Join us in standing strong for our first responders by donating today.

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, I've committed to raising funds as we ride 343 miles to honor the fallen, support the survivors, and stand with the first responders who still fight battles most of us never see, including cancer, trauma, and the toll of years spent serving others.

Please help me support this cause by making a donation through my page and don't forget to send this page to any friends you think might be interested in donating. I can't do this without you!

Castlewood Canyon

Sunday 9th Aug
Beautiful spot in Metro Denver.
I rode all the way out on the Cherry Creek trail - the same trail from the Triangle (earlier post) 70 miles round trip, and another cool thing happened today (another post), I met 2 new cycling friends; Pete & Joe.
The cycling community is pretty amazing! If you allow yourself to slow down & connect, you'll find all kinds of great people!
Check out pics from the gallery,
And again, thank you & blessings from CO

The Denver Triangle

Sunday 2nd Aug
Thursday I rode the Denver Triangle. It's a 60 mile loop around Denver using the Cherry Creek trail, the Platte River trail and the E470/C470 trail.
I rode about 15 miles from my house to get to it for a total ride of 90 miles!
Check out the pictures I posted below, & as always, thanks for your support!

Jet Wave 👋🏽

Friday 24th Jul
The coolest thing happened today!
I was out doing an easy 20 miles after yesterday's long ride (see post & pic), and coming home, the jets from Buckley Air Base (Space Force) came in to land.
As I was getting some pics to post, the last one did a quick "wave" at me by rolling a quarter turn & showing me the underside of the plane.
I've seen it done before, but never to me, & I'm sure it was to me, right?
Anyway, cool things happen on rides!
Check out the pic I posted. I got him as he was rolling back level.
Until next time, Blessings from CO

Lookout Mountain, CO

Thursday 23rd Jul
Hello friends!
I just completed the longest & toughest ride I've done to this point (in my life!)
75 miles (ish) round trip with an awesome 5 mile, 1500 ft climb in the middle.
Check out the pictures I posted!
And again, thank you for your support!

Clear Day

Friday 10th Jul
Finally a clear day. For weeks, the Colorado skies have been hazy from the forest fires.
The wind has been good to clear the air here, but hasn't helped to contain the fire.
Shout out to the many firefighters who are working hard to get it under control!

Cycling is Suffering...& Joy

Friday 3rd Jul
Hello to all,
As I was speaking with a buddy about this ride, he said "Cycling is Suffering", and I agreed.  It's a struggle to press through on a long training ride when your sit bones are screaming, your feet are falling asleep, your back is tightening, and I don't even want to talk about the hammies & calves!!!
But also, for me, cycling is joy.  There is a joy within the struggle.  A joy that many may never understand.  A sense of accomplishment & connection I don't find anywhere else.
Feeling the wind rush across my face (sometimes it's a headwind!), looking back after a long climb to see how far I've actually come, enjoying the way down after that climb...

So to all of you who are supporting me in my suffering, thank you.
And to all who are suffering for the same cause, I can't wait to meet you on the ride!
Blessings

I am Honored to ride

Sunday 28th Jun
I am so honored to be a part of this once in a lifetime ride to honor the 25th anniversary of that tragic day in our nation's history and all those who willingly sacrificed their lives in order to save others.
Everything I do up to September 5thwill be colored by this upcoming event.  When I see a fire station, I consider what I'm doing to prepare.  When I saw a policeman during my training ride today, I considered "how I can finish my ride stronger?"
From my diet to what I see on t.v. to how I think, this ride is always in the background.
Thanks for helping me to be a part of this.
Steve

Why I'm riding

Saturday 23rd May
When I saw the details of this ride on the Livestrong website, I had to do it. I remember exactly where I was on that terrible day, and all the emotions that flowed.
My Uncle Ben, who passed away in '21, was a Firefighter in the Air Force & trained Air Force firefighters after he retired. He was also a prostate cancer survivor.
Presently, my buddy Scott is a firefighter in Seattle & is also battling Lymphoma, and I have some good friends who work in law enforcement. All of these guys have lost something or someone in the line of duty.
My wife works in the mental health field where a portion of her clients suffer from service related PTSD & TBI, and my family, as most, has been affected by cancer.
I sit in the intersection of all of this, having a cancer diagnosis myself.
What a tremendous opportunity I have to help bring awareness & resources to these folks who sacrifice so much!
