What is the First Responders Ride for Resilience?

Ride for Resilience is a five-day honor ride from Boston to New York City marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and raising funds to ensure first responders have the cancer survivorship and mental health support they deserve.
What is the course route for the ride?

Start Line September 6, 2026 - Boston to Marlborough
September 7, 2026 - Marlborough to Mohegan Sun
September 8, 2026 - Mohegan Sun to New Haven
September 9, 2026 - New Haven to Stamford
September 10, 2026 - Stamford to NYC

What type of accommodations are included?

The accommodations on Sept 5th-9th are included for the rider (not family members or friends). So the rider does not need to book the hotel rooms. On the last arrival day in NYC September 10th the rider is responsible for their own accommodations. 

*Please note, at these hotels there are no other blocks set up for non-riders. Also the accommodations are based on double occupancy. 

The accommodations are mainstream brand hotels including Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott and Omni. 

Are meals included?

Yes, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be included per day for each rider. The lunch and snacks are available on the route. 
What is included with the riding kit?

The Riding Kit includes a T-shirt, Jersey, and Bike Shorts.
Is there a bag drop off location prior to the race?

Yes, there is. Bags will be transported for everyone each day from location to location
Where will the bikes be stored every night?

The bikes will be stored overnight, usually in a banquet room at the designated hotel that night. 

Are there bike rentals or shipping available for the ride?

We have partnered with Unlimited Biking for riders that need to rent or ship bikes for the ride! Included with your rental is a free helmet, pick-up and drop - off convenience, pedal installment and seat adjustments. Rentals start at $349 and shipping starts at $200. Fundraising

How do I fundraise for the event?

Step 1: Create an account. You will fill out some information before you reach step 2.

Step 2: Set up your personal Fundraising Page. 

Step 3: Then once your page is set up you will be able to share your page with friends and family!

Is this donation tax deductible?

LIVESTRONG, Friends of Firefighters and Boston Fire Cancer Foundation are a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.
Are there fundraising requirements to participate in the First Responders Ride for Resilience?

Yes. First Responders have a fundraising minimum of $2,000, and Honor riders have a minimum of $4,000. All fundraising minimums must be met by August 7, 2026 11:59pm Central Time. 
Can I cancel my ride?

You will have until May 15th at 11:59pm Central Time to withdraw registration for a full refund. Any fundraising you do will not be returned.
How do I submit a check donation?

Anyone wishing to make a donation via check should send the check and a note with the participant's name & firehouse # (if applicable) to the address below: Livestrong Attn: Ride for Resilience, 623 W 38th St. Ste. 300 Austin, TX 78705
How do I process funds sent directly to me via Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle?

If you receive funds via electronic apps, you must personally donate those funds to your personal fundraising page. Livestrong cannot issue a receipt for donations not made directly through the fundraising site.
How do I track my training mileage on the fundraising page?

Biking

What kind of support is available during the route?

There will be rest stops that include snacks, hydration and on course mechanical support. The mechanics team will help assemble, tune up and repair as needed as part of your entry. The ride will also offer SAG for any rider who is in need as well as medical support throughout the ride. 

There is also a support team riding in a van along the route to guide riders through the correct route. 
Can I ride an E-Bike?

Any human-powered pedaled bike (e.g., recumbent, tandem, tricycle) is permitted. Also, you may ride a Class 1 pedal-assist e-bike on the PMC routes. Class 2 (throttle-type) and Class 3 e-bikes are not permitted in the First Responders Ride for Resilience.
Is there an option to join this journey virtual?

Absolutely! Virtual regsitration will be coming soon!  
Is there an option to do a part of the route instead of the full 5 days?

Yes, there is an opportunity to ride part of the route! It would be part of our relay initiative. We do have some riders doing a partial route near their local areas.

The fundraising committment would still be required. 


In the next few months, there will be volunteer opportunities available, stay tuned!  

Are there specific start and end times to each biking day?

Most mornings will consist of a roll out time to be on the road. Certain groups will determine departures times based on riding speed. Pace groups will finish together at the designated pace. You are able to change paces throughout the event.
