I am part of this team that will be cycling 343 miles from Boston to New York to help raise funds and awareness for the need for more mental health and resiliency resources for both first responders and military veterans. Our groups donations will be given to the non-profit organization Friends of Firefighters.
Personally, I am riding to support and honor a friend's legacy who was passionate about a initiative he started. His vision was to develop more available mental health resiliency resources for veterans. Specifically, veterans who transitioned from military into careers as firefighters and other first responders. Unfortunately, health challenges arose and got in the way and he was not able to accomplish his vision and passed away last year due to cancer. I am riding to "Never Forget" his legacy.
After 20+ years as a Firefighter and 30+ years in the Marine Corps, I have come to know there is a great need for organizations like Friends of Firefighters who continue to support those who serve. Please consider making a donation to help our advocacy efforts. As the Irish say "Go raibh maith agat" which means "May you have goodness".
