Join us in standing strong for our first responders by donating today.

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, I've committed to raising funds as we ride 343 miles to honor the fallen, support the survivors, and stand with the first responders who still fight battles most of us never see, including cancer, trauma, and the toll of years spent serving others.

Please help me support this cause by making a donation through my page and don't forget to send this page to any friends you think might be interested in donating. I can't do this without you!

Goatee Pin @ Gilleland Trail

Sunday 7th Jun
There is a machine to feed them. Need to bring change next time. Got to pet a horned goatee and tell him I’m sorry, will make it up when I come through again

Solo to BMX Roundup

Sunday 7th Jun
Main event was close to my house. So I made a ride out of it. First half was windy. But, I love Gilleland Trail through Pflugerville. So it was worth it. Immanuel is a long hill. No bike lanes. No sidewalk. So I walked half of it.

Awesome event. Like always. Sick bikes for show. Good merch and parts to buy. And lots of my crew showed up to take part. Passed out a bunch of cards. Hopefully some donations start coming in. Couple people gave me cash, so I just donated with my card and their name.

Ride back home was brutal. So muggy and humid. Had a tail wind. But that didn’t help much. Had to stop several times in the shade to cool down.

2026 BMX Roundup ride

Saturday 6th Jun
I’m sure there’s a better pic out there. So many showed up for this thing. I maybe covered a third of the riders in this photo

2026 BMX Roundup Ride

Saturday 6th Jun
Every year we get together BMXers from all over to celebrate here in Austin with a big get-together and ride. I hooked up with members of my crew at Ramsey and rode down to the Lamar ped bridge

Easily a hundred of us showed up there. We rode through town, up Congress, then scissored to Guadeloupe, down Red River through UT campus, then over to the East side to come back down 6th st

All kinds of riders show up.  Hot doggers. Cruisers like me. E-bikes. Kids. Elders. You name it. Fun times!

SoCo Selfie

Tuesday 2nd Jun
Neat street art/mural thingy. Had to get a snapshot to post for my ride

First Anti-Social Ride

Tuesday 2nd Jun
Had a Crohn’s flare-up last week. Put me in the hospital a few days. Had to sit the weekend out to re-coop. Feeling a lot better now. Needed to get a ride in before the rain starts again this week

Some members of Cap Tex started another crew. They go a little faster with no- stops. Sounded right up my alley for training. So, I parked at Ramsey and rode Johnson Creek Trail to the meet up at Austin High.

The lead took us through Zilker Park up by the Long Center. I noticed dark clouds and lightening coming in. Pointed it out. But, the lead kept wanting to head east, where the storm was. So, I just broke off and when solo through SoCo.

Took Oltorf  to Lamar. Then went Bluebonnet, DeVerne up to Wilke. That’s when the rain caught up to me. Had to bomb Wilke, so I took it slow, hitting my brake and dragging my foot until it felt safe. Had to stop at Barton Hill Market when the torrents picked up.

About 30 minutes later it let up. Just enough time to get a snack and take a break. Went through Barton Sorings, Lamar Ped Bridge to take Nueces back to Rosedale. Didn’t get the miles I wanted. But, it was enough, given the conditions. Hopefully the rain will subside by this weekend and I get get some more in.

Forest Creek golf course

Monday 25th May
Nice stop with Roger on Memorial Day. Saw some swans getting all aggro with each other at this pond

Memorial Day Ride

Monday 25th May
Met up with my good riding buddy Roger. Veteran single-speed cruiser that likes long rides. Took me on some hills for training. Got muggy 30 miles in. But, still fought through. Excellent route close to home. Checked out some roads under construction. Did Forest Creek to see the golf coarse. Paloma Lake. Old Settlers. Then through downtown for a new trail built recently.

Made a video to post at Chandler Creek Park by my house. Great place to go over why I’m taking on this great ride. Like a memorial place for the branches of our military. Excellent choice for a day like this.

Wanting to get another ride in tomorrow after work before the rain comes. But, may stick close to home again. Will see how it goes. Supposed to have storms roll in after 7pm

Lake Austin Rest Stop

Sunday 24th May
nice break during our ride Sunday…chill park next to the lake

Sunday Stroll w/ Cap Texers

Sunday 24th May
Finally broke through the rain. Got some football officiating in yesterday (along with homework). Got a cruiser ride in this morning with my crew. Deano got a flat, so we cut it short to get him back to where he parked at Ramsey.

Good ride through town. Had some cards made for donations. A lot of people were out  because of the three day holiday weekend. So I handed them out to passersby. Figure the more people donate, the quicker I’ll reach the goal. Every little bit can add up.

Planning on a 40- miler tomorrow with my buddy Derek. Want to take that Pflugerville-Walnut Creek-Deep Wood route I talked about before.  Need to work on building my stamina. Hopefully I can get a few more in before the rain comes again.

51st Ped Bridge to Walnut Creek

Sunday 17th May
muggy day…awesome crew…love bombing the hill on the trail…and 51st is nice rolling hills for training

Social Sunday

Sunday 17th May
Rode with my crew today. Starting to really dislike Strava. Cut me off at the ped bridge on Lamar. Easily got 40 miles in today. But it clocked me at 33 😠

Sweet ride though. Took 51st to Walnut Creek. Ran into another riding buddy. Told him about this LiveStrong Challenge. Hope he takes it up.

Then we stopped at Betos for a Tex Mex snack break. Rode to Montopolis. Wishbone Bridge. Zig Zagged through downtown. Crossed river to Barton Springs. Then back up Nueces to Rosedale. Back up to the Leads house near Burnet and 183.

Gusty. Humid. But the wind is like natures AC. Even hit some hills for training. Feeling good. Just hoping to get more in this week. Expecting lots of rain 😞

Paloma Lake w/ Hustler 29’

Friday 15th May
nice trail near my house…mix gravel and sidewalk…chill…not many people around

Paloma Lake / Wyoming Springs Route

Friday 15th May
Windy. Gusty. You know it’s bad when you have to peddle downhill. lol. But, I know I put in 30 miles. Strava cut out on me when I was on my way back. 😠

Went Paloma Lake to Old Settlers Park to Brushy Creek Regional to Wyoming Springs and back. Nice add on to the slow roll from last night. Wanted to stay close to home because of the wind.

Went to my buddys moto shop today. He’s over in Mencheca. Nice rolling hills there. Planning on getting a ride in down Southy soon.

Taking a break tomorrow. Got too much going on. But will take on the Sunday Social with my Cruisers crew. Planning on leaving from the Leads house. Easily get ten more miles in that way, instead of the meet up point.

UT Tower

Thursday 14th May
selfie during social ride slow roll with my kiddo…good times…great weather

Thursday Social

Thursday 14th May
Got some cards made. Should be coming in the mail next week. Small squares. One side has description of the ride and what it’s for. The other side will have the QR code in making donations.

Had social ride with the kiddo tonight. With my Cap Tex Cruiser single speed crew. Kiddo is just getting back into riding again. So, it was a slow roll. Went through UT campus and took some selfies by the tower. Very cool weather. Windy just enough to cool us off. Stopped at food truck park near dorms for a mid stop snack.

Planning on another ride tomorrow afternoon. From Round Rock through Pflugerville, then Walnut Creek Trail back through Wells Branch and Deep Woods by the HS. We’ll see. Depends on how I’m feeling.

Prep for the big ride!!!

Wednesday 13th May
My plan is to do two consecutive 30 mile day rides.  Take a rest for a couple days.  Then do three consecutive 30 day rides.  Take a rest.  So on and so on.  Until I can achieve 5 30 mile day rides.

It is my assumption this will be my biggest hurdle to jump.  I'm good with doing 30-50 mile rides.  Just haven't done them consecutively, yet.

This is my plan in building stamina for the big ride ahead of me in September.
