Headed to western NY
Friday 7th Aug This week I am going to be in Western NY to visit with family. I will do some touring around the old neighborhood and surrounding communities when I can.

Riding in Maine
Monday 27th Jul Been vacationing in Maine this week. Been working on riding the Eastern Trail, which is 65 miles of road, dirt and paved recreational paths from South Portland to Kittery. Unfortunately, I am in the middle, so I have been doing some out and back rides. I have at least two thirds of this trail completed. The terrain is relatively flat but does go through some marsh and coastal areas. Share
Went for 50 miles
Sunday 19th Jul Today I rode what is known as the Champlain Islands. Rode through Grand Isle, North and South Hero. Goal was 50 miles on this reasonable level windy by the lake ride. Just five miles short of my goal and jeep, I ran over a piece of metal and punctured my rear tire. Sadly, that was a new tire and innertube just over a week old. My daughter saved the day and picked me up. Share
Long rides
Tuesday 14th Jul Over the weekend I did get some long rides in back-to-back. I My riding endurance has improved. I will be ready for September so that I can enjoy and be challenged during the ride without too much pain. Share
Great weather lately
Monday 29th Jun In the last two weeks I have been able to ride along the shore of Lake Champlain in the Georgia/St Albans area as well as the hills of Cambridge, Richmond and Underhill VT. The nice weather has really helped me get out on the bike to cover some distance. Share
Stowe Vt riding
Sunday 7th Jun Attended a conference in Stowe VT on Thursday and Friday June 4th and 5th and had the opportunity to ride the Mountain Road to Stowe Mountain Ski Area and the surrounding area. Great weather for a hill climb. Share
Warm weather
Thursday 16th Apr Twice this week I have had the ability to get out and ride the as the weather has reached moderate temperatures. It has been great. Can't wait for more nice weather. Share

Sunday 22nd Mar Within the last week I have had several retired members of the Burlington Fire Department help me to surpass my minimum fundraising goal. Thank you all.
Still training indoors
Saturday 14th Mar Been riding indoors still, I was envious of those who were out on their bikes during our 60-degree day last week. Share
Training has begun
Tuesday 3rd Mar While winter continues into March, I have begun to train indoors. Last week I rode three times between a half-hour to an hour. Next week I will spend more time in the saddle. Thank you all for the financial and emotional support. ShareGrateful For The Support Of My Donors
