Running to create memories and honor our friends who have been fighting the fight.
When Charley (8) said she wanted to run a race with me, I jumped at it. We picked a 5K. To her, 3.1 miles feels big and a little scary, which is exactly what makes it perfect. In our house, we teach that the greatest rewards come from doing hard things. For Charley, this race is a chance to do something hard. For me, it's a chance to do something alongside her and make a memory together.
LiveStrong has been part of our family for nearly 25 years, and we're dedicating this run to two people we love: a dear friend who just won her battle with cancer, and a friend who led LiveStrong for many years and whom we lost recently.
