Teaching Our Daughter That Every Step Can Help Someone Else

Our daughter is five years old. In January, she'll take on her very first 5K at Disney.

As her parents, that's a milestone we'll never forget.

She'll be nervous. She'll get tired. She'll probably ask how much farther we have to go more times than we can count. But she'll keep moving forward. And when she crosses that finish line, she'll discover something powerful: she's capable of more than she thought.

As parents, we dream about moments like these.

The chance to cheer her on.
The chance to hold her hand along the course.
The chance to create memories we'll talk about for years.

For most families, it might sound like a fun weekend at Disney. And it is. But for us, it means so much more.

One thing we've learned through Livestrong is that not every family gets these opportunities.

Every day, cancer changes lives. It interrupts childhoods, steals routines, and forces families to focus on treatments, appointments, and uncertainty instead of making memories together.

That's why we're proud to run as part of Team Livestrong.

With every mile we complete and every dollar we raise, we're helping cancer survivors and their families find support, resources, and hope when they need it most.

It's about teaching our daughter that when we have the ability to help others, we should, and making sure more families have the chance to create memories of their own.
